3 in 1 Project to provide Work area, Veggie garden and "period style" steps to front garden

Date: Jan 2011

Our Dundee clients brief was to transform 3 distinct area's of their listed victorian property.

1. The current veggie/fruit growing was becoming hard work to maintainwith constant weeding and cutting, no cover and no power.

2. A south facing elevated section of the garden would be the ideal location to provide a new formal veggie section

3. Access from the front door of the property down to the front lawn and shrubbery borders was difficult due to the steep slope and crumbling concrete steps.

2. Level and terrace new veggie garden with natural random stone retaining wall with access steps from the garden and the house. Construct a formal system of planters with access paths, timber and bark are used to give a natural look.

3. The steep slope is to be cut into and and a new stairway formed from natural stone. The stairway materials would comply with local authority guidelines on listed building works. Vintage Raven sandstone from Stonemarket's Vintage Paving range was chosen for the step treads and wall capping.
