Major terracing to sloping site, creating level patio steps and paths

Date: September 2009

Our clients at Auchterhouse , Angus were looking for a long standing solution to the surrounds and the frontal aspect of their cottage set on a hillside. An extension to the front needed an access solution and generally the client was looking for a natural stone feel to the surrounding paths and something special to the main entrance. Robert our designer has raised the ground level to allow a terracing around the property creating a larger area immediately to the front of the property, this necessitated constructing a new stone wall and feature steps to the new terrace, bringing the paths surrounding the cottage onto a similar level. Stonemarket's Fieldland Natural Sandstone was used as the main surface.
